Where is it?

Located less than two kilometres from the foot of “the hill” on Hwy 20, the Great Bear Chalet overlooks the Atnarko River, at the head of the Bella Coola Valley – gateway to the Great Bear Rainforest.

The people of the Nuxalk First Nations know the Valley to be their traditional territory. We are fortunate to make our home in the heart of the protected wilderness area known as South Tweedsmuir Provincial Park.

Our front door opens into over 981,000 hectares of some of the most ecologically and culturally important, wild Pacific salmon and grizzly bear habitat left in North America.
